Dear Families:The district wanted to provide the community with an update regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and our district's plan in dealing with this pandemic. The safety of our students, staff, and community is our top priority and all decisions that are made are based on this goal.First of all, we continue to monitor and assess this constantly evolving situation. Currently, the Iowa Department of Public Health is not advising the closure of schools, therefore, our schools will remain open at this time. We will be in contact with the Iowa Department of Public Health and the Dubuque County Health Department and we will follow the recommendation provided by them regarding potential school closures.Secondly, we are suspending all school activities and events that occur outside of the school day, or that involve a large number of people from the public coming into our schools. These events are not essential to the operation of our schools. The suspension of these events is until further notice. This includes athletic events, school activities, as well as special events, likes dances. Our goal is to minimize the opportunity for the spread of germs and viruses.We are including links to the websites for the Iowa Department of Public Health and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention which contain information you may find helpful.
